Chaumet – The Art of Jewellery Since 1780 Exhibition An encounter of Parisian art de vivre

Renowned Parisian jeweller, Chaumet, presented The Art of Jewellery Since 1780 exhibition at the ifc mall Oval Atrium, which was open to the public from June 1st – 11th – a presentation of the magnificence garnered by the House over two centuries. The exhibition presented Chaumet’s most intricate and exquisite creations, taking visitors through an immersive journey, progressing through a vivid exposition of Parisian grace and romance.

In attendance at the official Opening Cocktail event on June 2nd was Mr. Jean-Marc Mansvelt, CEO of Chaumet, along with special guests including Ms. Charlie Young, Ms. Cecilia So, Mr. Phil Lam and Mr. Jason Chan, who all joined the festivities on this auspicious occasion.

Chaumet transformed the ifc mall Oval Atrium into a French-style patio inspired by Follies – outdoor constructions designed for entertaining that originated in the 17th century. These Follies were used in numerous royal establishments in France and their important presence would continue in historical landmarks including Place Vendome’s celebrated long-corridor.

This apt decor suitably highlighted the exhibition’s three focal points through which guests immersed themselves in the Maison’s unparalleled creativity, heritage and style, starting with an enchanting wall of tiara models. Chaumet is known as ‘The Master of Tiaras’ and has made over 3,000 tiaras since 1780, and at this focal point, guests were given the opportunity to try on a tiara and take instant photos. At the forefront was a digital interactive table display presenting the legacy and history of Chaumet – offering guests a glimpse into an authentic Parisian-art of jewellery. Transitioning to the second focal point of the exhibition, guests were presented with a magnificent showcase in the shape of a fountain, displaying a selection of Chaumet’s most exquisite High Jewellery pieces and collections, including the graceful movement of wheat in a gentle breeze, the sensational beauty of freshly picked flowers, the free-spirited bow-knot, as well as the beautiful and iconic Joséphine Collection – an account of the Maison’s excellence and its flare for romance.

To narrate the brand story with the latest technology, Chaumet presented to its visitors an engaging virtual reality (VR) experience titled ‘Here and Beyond: An Imperial Virtual Journey’. The VR film is aimed to take guests on a discovery of the here and beyond – from 12 Place Vendôme to the Forbidden City through an imperial virtual journey. Chaumet once again displayed its uninterrupted transmission of exceptional French heritage and savoir-faire, while embracing advances in innovation and creativity.

Every Chaumet creation displayed in the exhibition bears the influence from the House’s inception in 1780. In over two centuries, Chaumet has consistently demonstrated an unyielding commitment to create authentic and timeless masterpieces – sharing the magnificent beauty in craftsmanship and art that transcends the boundaries of time.
