There's a huge focus on health these days, but that doesn't mean you can't indulge a little once in a while. At The Cakery, a pop-up healthy cafe and bakery at ifc until July 31, you can focus on your body without worrying about giving up taste. Founder Shirley Kwok shares what’s in a few of The Cakery's best recipes, and why exactly they're so good for you.

Each regular cupcake contains only 12.2g of carbs and 1.1g of sugar.

Vegan Mushroom Burger
"Our irresistible vegan portabello and honshimeji mushroom burgeris slathered in a house blend vegan cheese," says Kwok. "They are so moist, tender and full of flavour that even meat lovers would enjoy them. Moreover, the pickled beetroot adds a tartness to the overall flavour. Mushrooms are packed with nutritional value - they're low in calories, and are great sources of fibre and protein, so good for those on plant-based diets. They also provide many important nutrients, including B vitamins, selenium, potassium, copper, and vitamin D.
"Not only are they pleasing to the eye, superfoods are nutrient powerhouses packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to give your body the boost it needs. In latte form, they taste amazing! Vegan versions are available. We offer oat milk, almond milk and soy milk," says Kwok.

Taro Black Gojiberry Latte
Black goji berries have been used extensively in Chinese medicine to treat heart disease, hypertension, abnormal menstruation and menopause. Compared to the common red goji berry, they are much higher in nutritional value.
